Born on April 16, 1966, Ava began painting at an early age. Her artistic abilities were spotted early which led her to finish both the prestigious Sofia Fine Arts high school and attain her MA at Sofia Fine Arts Academy in 1992. 

She became the youngest ever member of the Bulgarian Artist's Association at the age of eighteen, winning the association's Young Talent award in 1986. 

In the years following her graduation, 1992 through 2011, she traveled the world extensively, working and exhibiting in various countries in Europe and Japan.

In 2001, she relocated to the United States with her husband and two children.

Her works are part of the King and Spalding Collection in Atlanta,as well as numerous private collections throughout Europe.
